JAINS TO BECOME THE SIXTH MINORITY COMMUNITY


The Jains community of around 50 lakh people has been given minority status by the central government under section 2(c) of the national commission for Minorities Act,1992.
This will enable them to take special benefits in the government schemes and programmes.
The Jains is the sixth community to have minority status after Muslims,Christians,Sikhs,Buddhists and Parsis.
