Aamir Khan's PK saw a huge opening on box office on Friday. According to early estimates of Bollywood website koimoi.com, film has collected in the range of 30-31 crores on the opening day at the domestic box office.
"The first day was expected to be massive and considering that it was a normal Friday, the collections are very good," the website says.
Several analysts also tweeted about smashing opening of the film.
Film analyst, Girish Johar tweeted on Friday: "'PK' had a huge opening at all premium sites and top end cities. In mass regions, it is above average....Overall, very good start in early shows."
While several others analysts expect the film to collect more than Rs 300 crore in its first week.
"Oh My God.. #PK is sureshot SUPER DUPER HIT.. Will break all records...Will cross 300 crores...200 in 1st week," tweeted trade analyst Amod Mehra.
First film by director Rajkumar Hirani's in five years, PK has a star studded cast, which includes Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt and Sushant Singh Rajput.
Aamir Khan's films always have an element of intrigue and with a team comprising ace director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the expectations are
high from it.
